A person who is bankrupt cannot be a director but can they start another business as a partner? Can 2 people?

My partner and I have two companies, one will be going bankrupt, but we want to keep the second business going - it's not insolvent so we want to keep it going, but as two bankrupts can we? It is a Ltd company - so could we change to a partnership? Any other advice on how to resurrect your business after bankruptcy would be useful
